I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a Masters in Psychological Counselling. I am a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society) with the designatory letters MBPsS. I am a fully accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) with the use of the designatory letters MBACP (Accred) and as such abide by their strict ethical framework for good practice in counselling, I receive regular clinical supervision for my work and I have professional insurance to practice.
I have 11 years experience working within Mental Health and 8 years experience of psychotherapeutic practice. I have worked within the NHS, private and the voluntary sector as a counsellor/psychotherapist. My experience covers a range of settings including working in Primary Care, working with people with long term enduring Mental Health difficulties and working in community based psychotherapy centres.
How I work
I work integratively which means I draw from different approaches. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients and I believe the quality of the working relationship is the most important component of counselling. I also believe that counselling is undertaken with a view to you leading a better life.
